On Saturday 16th October, in its first collaboration with Britten Sinfonia Music of Life ran a 6-hour workshop led by magnificent James MacMillan. It was an afternoon full of amazing music-making, lively interaction between musicians and lots of useful ideas thrown around.
Three young composers supported by Music of Life Foundation - Thomas Blumire, Lloyd Coleman and Benjamin Larham - presented their new works for brass and string ensembles.
Pieces were rehearsed and performed by a mixed group of Britten Sinfonia and Music of Life players whilst James offered his comments and suggestions for improvements.
