20.05.2010: Trial singing workshops |
| Music of Life Foundation has developed a new ground-breaking educational scheme to provide regular choral workshops at special schools, in partnerships with disability groups and in hospices in order to develop long-lasting collaborations and enable students to work alongside professional singers with an added agenda of selecting the most keen and talented youngsters to appear in our concerts. We are offering introductory workshops during the Summer term with a view to launching the ongoing series from September 2010. These high-quality workshops will provide the chance to explore a wide range of classical choral repertoire and experience the excitement of singing in a chorus with some very strong singers.
The feedback we have received from some schools that were offered a trial workshops has been extremely enthusiastic:
“It’s been thrilling to watch our students react to and engage with the music that your wonderful singers brought to our school. Within the group taking part in the workshop there was a large number of children who always refused to sing in music lessons before and we never expected them to be so proactive and enthusiastic. You gave us the opportunity we never had and we hope your professional singers will come back in the Autumn to make a very powerful change in our students’ lives” – said the Head of Music in West Hill School, Surrey after a workhop in early May 2010.
